Media Library

Payment of registration fees and late payment penalties is made in cash or by credit card at the reception of the French Institute. Registration is free for learners of the Language Center of the French Institute of Cambodia.

The Media Library team provides several thematic guides online, in addition to the printed versions in its spaces:

With your subscription, you also have access to Culturethèque, the French-language online library of the French Institut. Accessible from your smartphone, tablet or computer, 7 days a week throughout Cambodia, Culturethèque allows you to consult hundreds of thousands of documents in just a few clicks. Daily press, magazines, books (including the latest literary prizes), comics, resources for French learners… There’s something for everyone!

How to access it? By registering on site at one of the media libraries of the cultural network of the French Institute of Cambodia. The service is free for media library subscribers and students of the Institute. Culturethèque is currently accessible to all free of charge for 4 weeks on the website culturetheque.com!

Digital technology is also a dedicated space on the ground floor of the Media Library: discovery of virtual reality, introduction to programming, video games, digital awakening garden for toddlers, etc. Our teams regularly offer you activities around new technologies. Are you looking for board games to brighten up your afternoons and evenings?

The French Institute provides its members with some 150 board games! At the Media Library or at home, with family or friends, the games library is a space for games and friendly and collective activities for all age groups. Access to the games collection is free for all!

 Terms of use

• Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
• Children aged 10 and over who are not accompanied by an adult can play on site, but remain under the responsibility of their parents or the adult in charge.
• Any unaccompanied child who disrupts the smooth running of a game in progress will be refused access to the games in the absence of an adult in the future.
• Any damage must be reported to the librarians who will then assess the possibility of repair. If the damage cannot be repaired, the game being unusable, the user will be required to replace it. In the event of a decision to replace the game, if it is no longer published, the librarians and the user will agree to purchase a game of equivalent collection and price. Users are asked not to replace lost parts themselves, before informing the librarians.

Conditions relating to on-site play, each user agrees to:

• Respect the spaces, equipment and games;
• Put away the games after using them (putting away each game or toy is mandatory after its use by the children or accompanying adults by checking their composition);
• Respect the other players and their gaming session. Have respectful and courteous behavior;
• The on-site playing time must be adapted according to the age and abilities of the child (or 2 hours maximum);
• The member has the right to ask the librarians for advice or an explanation concerning the games.

Accompanying persons

Adult accompanying persons remain responsible for the children and their behavior, they ensure that they do not disrupt the proper functioning of the games library and respect the place and the other players. Our games library is in no way responsible for any damage or accidents that may result when using the games.

How to take a game home

• Be a member of the IFC media library
• Your membership allows you to borrow a game for a period of three weeks
• In the event of a delay, the member is required to notify the library by telephone, only during opening hours, or by email.
